more pictures of the girls

I was released from the hospital last tuesday (December 16th). The girls are in the NICU, but doing well. Since the day I have been released my mom takes me in the morning to see the girls, feed them and tend to their cares needed. I then go back again to the hospital at night with Brandon after he gets off of work to do the same things.
They have been breathing on their own very well since they were born. They had a slight cause of Jaundice but it is gone. They are both gaining weight and are starting to nurse and take bottles. So they should be off of their feeding tubes soon. As soon as they are eating well on their own without the feeding tube then they should be able to come home to us.

The Cesarean Section Is Scheduled!

So... The latest on this pregnancy. I went to my OBGYN today. As it has been lately I have high protein and high blood pressure. I have gained alot of more weight in the last two weeks since they last weighed me. I am measuring at 37 cm. As far as my OBGYN can tell the babies are doing well but she's still concerned about me. So I am still going to do my non-stress tests as usual. That'll be tomorrow, friday, and last on next monday (Dec. 9th, 12th, and 15th). Also unless anything else changes I will see her again next also next monday (Dec. 15th).

The good news is... My OBGYN set a date for my C-Section!!! It is scheduled for after 5:00pm on December 17th. So that is the day the twins are scheduled to be born, unless during my next couple non-stress test something changes to make them take the girls earlier then December 17th.

So for us there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'll continue to keep you all up to date if anything changes. Otherwise it might be after the girls are here that we might talk again. xoxo

UPDATE Once again...

So when I was hoping to find out two days ago (Monday, Dec. 1st) to see when I was going to have my c-section scheduled we didn't get to find out. I went in for my normal non-stress test and everything is good with the girls. I had high protein and my blood pressure was high. So we then went to my scheduled ultra sound and the girls looked great there to! Baby A was 3lb 13oz Baby B was 4lb 7oz and look healthy.

Well since my blood pressure was high and same with my protein that concerned the MD at the ultra sound clinic. He called my MD, which I was going to go see after this appointment anyway, and they wanted me to check into labor and delivery to run some tests. Depending on the test results they were going to take the babies that day.

Long story short. The tests came back fine and the babies are still inside me. Next is my appointment to see the MD on Monday Dec. 8th and go from there. Hopefully she'll give me a date for the c-section at that time.

How early are they coming out?

Starting about a week and a half to two weeks ago my OBGYN has me going in for these 'non-stress tests' twice a week. At those they mainly just do an ultra sound and try to find the membrane that separates the girls to see how my fluid is around each one of them. Then they hook me up to the machine that checks for contractions and monitors the girls heartbeats. It only takes about an hour if the girls are behaving and they can get clear readings.

I went in for one of my non-stress tests yesterday. They had some trouble finding the membrane, but that's pretty normal on me. When they found it they said the fluid around each baby is getting smaller but still ok for right now. Their heart beats are still going well. Baby A average was 140 beats per minute. Baby B average was about 145 beats per minute. So all around that went well.

Baby A is the closest to the birth canal and is breech, while baby B is head down. Because of these positions that they are in my OBGYN thinks that we will most likely do a c-section when they take them out.

My OBGYN is also not quite sure how much longer they will keep the babies in me. My placenta has a lot of calcification on it. That means that my placenta has aged and matured much faster then it should have. She says that it looks like about a 40 week old placenta on someone who should have already delivered their babies. Because of that they are worried about the babies and the nutrition they are getting. So that is the main reason I have to go in and do the 'non-stress tests'. They may take the babies around week 34 which would be December 1st. Which I'm fine with as long as that will be ok on the babies and help them.

Well I think that get's most everything up-to-date for now. xoxo

Ultra Sound Pictures

I am finally posting some of the earlier Ultra Sound Pictures of the babies. I will try to post a few of the later ones once we get them Baby B then Baby A. Why, I'm not sure. It must have been easier to take her pictures I'm guessing

5.30.08 This was our very first Ultra Sound done. It was taken when I was only 7 weeks along. Before we know that we were having twin.

8.15.08 This is the visit we found out that we were having Identical TWIN Girls!!!! This picture it's kinda hard to see but it is basicly showing Baby B's girly parts. I am almost 19 weeks at this point in time.

8.15.08 This is two screen shots of the babies profiles. Baby A is on the left and Baby B is on the right side. The placenta is the large thing along the top of the pictures.

8.15.08 This is Baby B's face well mainly her skull. Kinda creepy looking
